Out Of The Mouths of Babes: Boy Writes Hilariously Blunt Journal Entry About Homeschooling

There is no question that the COVID-19 outbreak has turned the lives of many families totally upside down. Now that the great majority of schools are closed because of the outbreak, there are many parents who are doing homeschooling duties in order to make sure their children don’t lose their progress.

Although many parents felt they were up to the task, a lot of them are figuring out that this school teaching thing is not as easy as it looks.

Candice Kennedy definitely thought she was up to the task of homeschooling her kids. Indeed, she was a stay-at-home mom to 12-year-old Tyler, 10-year-old Emily, and 8-year-old Ben. She did this important job for 11 years, so she was used to being around them often and helping them learn new things.

Candice had to take time off from her part-time job at a Kentucky-based bakery because of the pandemic, and since her kids couldn’t go to school anyway, she thought she would have an easy ride helping her kids. Well, even though the teachers were regularly e-mailing her the assignments, it turned out to be a bit harder than she thought.

First of all, she encountered difficulty helping her daughter avoid feeling anxiety over not completing all of her schoolwork on time. She has had some difficult helping her oldest son understand math.

She thought she was getting the hang of it by the end of the week, but the she got this journal entry from her youngest son. Here is what Ben wrote: “It is not going good. My mom’s getting stressed out. My mom is really getting confused. We took a break so my mom can figure this stuff out, and I’m telling you, it is not going good.”

She knew that Ben wasn’t trying to be mean because he is the comedian of the family. When she read the journal entry, she started laughing hysterically.

She shared her son’s cute journal entry on social media, and it has gone viral!

  1. First off I want to say superb blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your head before writing. I’ve had trouble clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out. I truly do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually lost just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or tips? Appreciate it!
