DUI arrest: Maria A. Bucci, 51, chairwoman of Cranston’s Democratic Committee, was charged with a misdemeanor DUI after a traffic stop.
-
Vulgar tirade: She repeatedly berated officers with insults including calling one a “dick” and threatened them during the encounter.
-
Political claims: Bucci allegedly invoked political connections and made racially charged statements in an attempt to avoid consequences before being arrested.
Here we go again with Democratic entitlement on full display. Maria A. Bucci, a Democratic party chair from Rhode Island, got pulled over for suspected drunk driving and instead of owning up to her bad decision, she turned it into a self-important meltdown. Rather than cooperate, she begged for “Do you know who I am,” threw around vulgar insults at police, threatened them, tried to drag the race card into it, and even boasted about her connections like some sort of political VIP above the law. Police did their job and arrested her, proving that no one is above the law, regardless of party affiliation.
Gateway Pundit reports:
An entitled Rhode Island Democrat went on a self-absorbed tirade before and after breaking the law in embarrassing fashion last week.
As The Daily Mail reported, 51-year-old Maria A. Bucci, the chairwoman of Cranston’s Democratic Committee, was charged with driving under the influence on December 18 after a traffic stop. … Bucci apparently thought her Democratic privilege would shield her from trouble as she repeatedly told officers, “Do you know who I am?”
Not surprisingly, police recognized she was a figure of minor importance and proceeded to do their job. This only made Bucci angrier, as she proceeded to berate the officers in a vulgar manner. … “Call my husband right now and call the attorney general and everybody else in town. This is disgusting. God forbid I was a black person, I’d be arrested,” she said.
After Bucci continued to argue over the field sobriety tests, [Officer St. Laurent] placed her under arrest. This took Bucci’s rage to another level as she called the officer a “d**k” and a “loser.”
Police said that Bucci’s insane tirade continued after she was transferred to police headquarters. From the Mail: “They claimed that she continued to call St. Laurent an ‘evil piece of [expletive].’ … During booking, Ms. Bucci continued her ferocious attack of abusive comments by stating, ‘I’m going to get you mother******’,” St. Laurent wrote in the documents.
This is classic Democrat entitlement in action. When you think the law applies to everyone else but you, that is exactly when the law reminds you it applies to you too. No amount of name-dropping, race cards, or tantrums changes the fact that drunk driving is a crime and you answer to police just like the rest of us.
