The Gateway Pundit published a video on Thursday that it says shows Democratic Ohio gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton slurring her words during remarks at a rally in Toledo.
What the outlet posted
The site wrote that the event took place at UAW Local 12 in Toledo alongside Democrat Senate candidate Sherrod Brown. The Gateway Pundit described Acton as sounding “hammered” and “sloshed” and embedded a video from the appearance.

According to The Gateway Pundit’s transcript of the clip, Acton said: “Ahhh it’s so good! Good to be back here at UAW! It’s about truth and justice. I just wrote on the words, words back here! That is. I’m honored to be here!” The outlet also quoted her as saying, “We’ve been in Toledo a lot! There’s a big energy going on here! I can feel it – and oh my goodness! You know, it has been quite a week!”
Context The Gateway Pundit included
The post said the United Auto Workers endorsed Acton, citing her “commitment to standing up to corporate greed and fighting for the working class.” That characterization and quote were attributed to the union by The Gateway Pundit.
The outlet further referenced its earlier criticism of Acton’s Labor Day weekend appearances, saying she “sounded really drunk” and that she chanted that Vivek Ramaswamy, “a billionaire,” “cannot buy the state.”
Separate claim cited by the post
The Gateway Pundit also pointed to material published by activist Laura Loomer, who posted what she described as a Bexley Police Department 911 call log from August 17, 2019. Per Loomer’s posting, and as summarized by The Gateway Pundit, the dispatcher’s written narrative said Acton’s daughter reported a domestic disturbance and alleged her mother had been “drinking and throwing things and breaking glass.”
