Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel are preparing to provide congressional investigators with “bombshell emails” revealing that the FBI warned the Biden Justice Department that it lacked probable cause to raid President Donald Trump’s Mar-A-Lago estate in 2022, according to a report from John Solomon of Just The News. The raid was ultimately carried out despite objections.
The emails are set to be turned over to the Senate and House Judiciary Committees as early as Tuesday, ahead of a planned deposition Wednesday from former special prosecutor Jack Smith, who ran the Biden DOJ’s criminal cases against Trump.
The memos outline how the FBI’s Washington Field Office “does not believe they established probable cause” prior to raiding Trump’s Palm Beach home, one source with direct knowledge of the documents told Just The News.
Multiple FBI employees had previously filed internal complaints over the handling of the raid. “Did this really just happen? Am I dreaming? The FBI served a Search Warrant on a former president?” one agent wrote in an email to the FBI’s acting ombudsman Chauncenette Morey shortly after the raid.
“I’ve lost just about all faith in our leadership. Obviously they forgot Crossfire Hurricane,” the agent continued, referencing the FBI’s unfounded surveillance of then-candidate Trump as part of the bogus “Russian collusion” investigation.
As lawmakers review the emails and question key figures involved, the Mar-A-Lago raid is once again under intense scrutiny. The disclosures could have lasting implications for DOJ oversight, FBI leadership, and public trust in federal law enforcement.
