According to the New York Post, Nick Reiner, 32, has been charged with murder and is being held on $4 million bail. Page Six confirmed he was taken into custody Sunday night after police responded to the scene.
The couple’s daughter, Romy Reiner, reportedly found her parents around 3:30 p.m. Sunday with their throats slashed. TMZ reported that Romy told officers she believed a family member “should be suspect” and described that person as “dangerous.”
Nick Reiner has a long and publicly documented history of drug addiction. Rob Reiner spoke openly for years about his son’s struggles and even produced a film detailing the family’s experience with addiction, often citing it as a driving force behind his political and social advocacy.
