An 11-Month Old Baby Was Kidnapped and Sexually Assaulted, But Then the Situation Got MUCH WORSE
I swear, sometimes I just don’t know what the world is coming to.
There was a mother who was literally woken up in sheer terror in the middle of the night when she realized that her 11-month-old daughter was missing.
This 25-year-old mother was asleep in a tent with her daughter, her 4-year-old son, and her husband at a building site in Delhi, India, and the kidnapping took place in this still of the night when normal law-abiding citizens are fully asleep.
The 27-year-old father is working as a construction laborer, but he only makes about $3 per day, thus, his family cannot afford more secure accommodations.
“We were shouting for help,” the 25-year-old mother said. “We were shouting so loudly that we woke up many of the nearby tents. Everyone began looking for my daughter. I was desperately needing help.”
However, even though the other laborers searched frantically for the little girl, it was to no avail. They called the police, and they ended up finding the baby in a nearby jungle. Unfortunately, the 11-month-old was suffering some tremendous injuries due to being raped. She was bleeding profusely. Eventually, 42-year-old Vijay Singh was arrested and charged with the crime.
“We could have never expected this,” the young mother said. “We have had a peaceful existence. We thought we all were safe. It’s usually nice that we all can work together, and we didn’t expect that anything like this could happen. We weren’t the type to fight. I feel so helpless about this.”
To make matters worse, Singh was interviewed and allegedly confessed to sexually abusing the little baby for almost two hours.
Once the police rescued the baby, they took the young child to a nearby hospital and ensured that she received stitches and other needed treatments.
“When I saw police holding my young child, I was horrified, I was speechless,” the mother added. “I was in shock and couldn’t feel anything. I cried. I wept. I don’t understand how this could have happened.”
However, this isn’t the worst of it. This woman and her husband are afraid that their daughter might have long-term health concerns because of this incident.
“We want to leave this job now. We don’t want want to stay here at all,” the father said. “We’ll go to a different place. Right now, it is too difficult for us to make decisions, because we are in shock. Yes, we need to keep working so we can earn money, but we are devastated and cannot think clearly.”
